Moments before the opening bounce,
the clouds opened up and a huge downpour lasted almost the entire game. This provided some relief for all players
and even though at times players were blinded by heavy rainfall.
Throughout the game both teams
made forward advances, but it was the ‘Pies who started to make their presence
known. The Magpies center line players
switched around in order to shut down the Tigers and through some commitment
and great man on man defense.
Dallas forwards combined to amass
8 of the team's goals
While Baton Rouge relied on the
skill of their fast players to move the ball forward, Dallas continued to march
on, making many forward pushes and kicking some strong goals. The Dallas back-line, who had worked
extremely hard all day was rock solid and held off most of the Baton advances.
When the final siren sounded it
was the Dallas side that ran out victors by 30 points.
