Membership Dues in 2007:
Magpies, hope everyone is
enjoying the off season. I can't believe that the 2007 season is almost upon
us. I wanted to take a moment to cover a topic nobody wants to talk about -
DUES.
This year
USFooty is increasing the membership dues to $900. The reason for this is
because they are weening themselves from the AFL money that has been provided
to them. This is not an indication that the AFL is pulling support for US
Footy, but it is more of a move by US Footy to show sustainability.
Additionally,
we have really kept membership dues low in the past because we had some really
big sponsorship dollars coming in. We were using a big part of that to support
the general maintenance of the club. As we grow as a club, so do our money
requirements. We should be using our sponsorship dollars for major purchses
needed to help us attain our major goals. The membership dues should cover much
of the general maintenance, i.e, equipment, recruiting, etc...
Thus, our
dues will be raised to $125 per calendar year. This gives you full access to
the club and allows you to participate in all Magpie events. This is the
equivalent of 3 short soccer seasons. Hopefully, everyone gets more out of the
club than they would from local soccer. We're not just about playing footy, but
we're a true club. To keep the club structure that we have reall do have to
make this dues increase. I will say that this is a one-time dues increase, and
I do not see them going up anytime soon.
Dues are
can be paid on-line below, or directly to a club Administrator in cash or by a
personal check. Payment is now due, and the deadline for payment is April
1st 2006.
Please note
that no person on the Adminstration (nor any players) are paid. All the work
done by members is dontated.
Specifically
in 2006, your Membership Dues will be used for:
- New shorts and socks (but only if we agree with that)
- USAFL Membership ($900)
- USAFL National Championship Fee ($200)
- MAAFL Membership ($300)
- Equipment for USFooty Kids Clinics in
Dallas/FW/Richardson/Mesquite area schools
- Ongoinng Equipment/Maintenance (footballs, cones,
whistles, etc...)
- Replacement of game day equipmet
- Game day supplies (gatorade, ice, medical, etc...)
The
following are major purposes we are pursuing:
- Goalpost Pads, Siren, Digital Time Display
12 x 5 Storage Utility Trailer
(transportable, with magpie logo's) Purchased!- PA System (so we can all listen to Stuey call the
game!)
- Banquet Tent
2006
Spring Metro Dues will be used for:
- Field Rental
- Equipment
- Uniforms
