MAGPIES PUT “HOME” IN HOMETOWN
DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Magpies Australian Rules
Football Club has been hammering opponents all season, but on July 29, the club
did a different kind of hammering.

The Magpies participated in the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity
home building blitz held in conjunction with the “Global Day of Prayer” build. As part
of the build, the Magpies helped the local Habitat for Humanity chapter build
30 homes in south Dallas.
“We wanted to do something to give back to the
community that supports us,” said Scott Cobb, president of the Magpies. “We
love calling Dallas home, and we are excited to have the opportunity to work
with a fellow charitable organization, Habitat for Humanity, to help provide
homes for deserving families.”
As part of the build, members of the Magpies team
worked on a pair of homes near Rochester Park in south Dallas. The two homes
are located at 2625 and 2629 Choice St.
The homes are sponsored by several area churches,
including Prestonwood Baptist Church, Oak Cliff Bible Church and Potter’s
House. The churches are sponsoring the home build in conjunction with the
Global Day of Prayer, held May 15.
