DALLAS DEFEATS BATON ROUGE

The Dallas Magpies kicked off their 10th season in the US with a convincing win against neighbor rival Baton Rouge, 19.16.135 to 2.5.17.  It was a perfect day for football in Dallas as both teams fielded solid line ups.  The Magpies were looking to retain their unbeaten record against the Tigers but following some pre-season recruiting the Cajun's looked young, fast and fit. MAGPIES HELP THE SALVATION ARMY

Dallas, TX – On Saturday December 9th a motley crew of Magpies, Colonials and their significant others ventured down to the Salvation Army Christmas and Disaster Relief warehouse to perform a little volunteer work.  The work performed included helping the Salvos sort, bag and distribute donated gifts for over 50,000 children and elderly citizens as part of the Salvation Army/Channel 5 Angel Tree Program.

The program involves caring citizens selecting an “angel” from trees placed in various Metroplex shopping malls and fulfilling the Angel’s wish list by purchasing an item or items on that wish list.  These toys are then taken to the Salvation Army main distribution center and it is here that the Magpies and Colonials leant their able bodies to help get these toys to where they needed to go.  More information on this remarkable program can be found at The Salvation Army.
